Wow. Whatta game.

Hartselle was much more than one point better than Pinson Valley, but inconsistency plagued the Tigers for much of the night. Hartselle couldn’t find the flow that had previously led to 11 straight wins, as quarterback Deacon Aldridge had a pair of turnovers and struggled to advance the ball downfield. Even the runs that usually get six or seven yards for Hartselle were getting two or three at best against a very athletic Pinson Valley squad.
But Hartselle found a way to win, and that speaks volumes for a team playing its first postseason game away from J.P. Cain Stadium since 2009. After all, it doesn’t matter how you win at this point of the season. As Hartselle head coach Bob Godsey said, “I’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day.”
